On Deck: Judi Jai
Judith Camille Jackson, better know as Judi is most known for being the breakout star from the Bunim-Murray produced and Oxygen Network's hit show, "Bad Girls Club". She was coined “The Voodoo Vixen", now mostly known as "The Voodoo Queen", from the seventh season which took place in New Orleans in 2011. This Pisces, Louisiana rooted girl (Lake Charles), south side of Chicago raised (Beverly & Olympia Fields), has an unforgettable personality from her crazy sense of humor, to her sensitive big heart. In fact, she was so funny that she was parodied on the hit E! show "The Soup" multiple times from her outrageous crying, talking to plants, and bringing personality to a life-sized voodoo doll (Miss Voodoo), which ultimately became another cast mate on season 7. Proud of her Louisiana Créole heritage, she represents it well. She now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. When she is not busy traveling, which is one of her favorite hobbies, she is trying new food (FOODIE), being adventurous, chasing the paranormal and unexplained, making people laugh, and being the mystical, creative, intellectual and artistic soul that she is. Growing up as an only child, she was always in the arts and entertainment from playing the piano, taking jazz, tap & ballet classes, drawing, painting, ceramics, pottery, and creating/making up songs and rhymes. Judi also modeled as a child, and was also athletic, playing volleyball and basketball throughout the school years, and using her loud vocals for cheerleading. In high school, Judi found a way to tie in her love for writing poetry and writing in general, expressing her feelings & thoughts on paper, by working on the newspaper staff. She then went on to Columbia College Chicago, one of the biggest media arts schools in the nation, where she studied Broadcast Journalism Radio & Television before breaking into the industry. After doing so, Judi branded herself as "Judi Jai", which is her name shortened from Judith and Jai because her last name initial is J. Her popularity on her first reality show landed her a spot on the spin off of the Oxygen Network's third season of a dating competition elimination style show called "Love Games" in 2011 which had its final episode on January 23, 2012 when they announced her as the winner. She was also featured in the Oxygen Networks "Top 10 BGC OMG Moments", and crazy Judi won the #1 spot on the countdown. She also made a guest appearance on "Love Games" season 4 in 2012 and hosted "The Judi Juice Challenge". She then went on to host two specials on the Oxygen Network that aired in April of 2014, "Bad Girls Allstar Battle: Most Allstar Moments", and "Funniest Bad Girls Of All Time", which she won the title of “Funniest Bad Girl”. She went on to film her fourth reality show "Bad Girls Club 13: Redemption", on the Oxygen Network which premiered October 7, 2014 and ended with its final episode on January 6, 2015. Judi went on to star in a show not related to "Bad Girls Club" on the Oxygen Network. The name of the show was "Battle of the Ex Besties", which premiered on Valentine's Day 2017. Judi is an author and wrote her first fiction book which is dedicated to her parents: Girvena M. LeBlanc and William E. Jackson who passed away. The book is a romantic thriller called "FOU: Til Death Do Us Part". Fou means "crazy" in French, and the book holds Judi's poems, illistrations, and her mothers very own Créole recipes out of her own cook books. Fou was published June 11, 2015 and is sold at Barnes & Noble, and many other places like Walmart, Overstock, Amazon, and Amazon Kindle. The book comes in many formats. All book proceeds go to Lung Cancer Awareness. She is in the process of writing another titled “The Mémoir of a Krazi Créole”, which will be a more personal book about her life. Judi became the very first 'Bad Girl' in history to venture into food, honoring her Créole culture. Mixing her voodoo brand along with her popular "Judi Juice", she endearingly named it "Judi's Voodoo Juice". The hot sauce was released June 1, 2016 and since then has grown with other flavors. It is available for purchase here under the "I Got The Sauce" tab, and in select restaurants/stores. One of Judi’s goals is opening up her very own food truck or restaurant in the future, naming it "Girvena's", in honor of her mother. The restaurant will be Créole-Caribbean cuisine and will have a variety of delicious, unique choices, with her hot sauce available to use and purchase.
